1. The University of Sydney
Taking first position, which may not come as surprising to many is the University of Sydney. The University of Sydney, continues to be the highest ranked Australian university for graduate employability this year, and this University is currently ranked fourth in the world and achieving its highest score for Employer-Student Connections (it’s ranked eighth).
The University of Sydney boasts of about top-50 scores for every indicator, with its next highest score being for the Partnerships with Employers category (14th). This world prestigious and celebrated university is active in hosting careers fairs, employer information sessions, workshops and other events, which is aimed in helping students and employers network with each other.
2. The University of Melbourne
Taking 2nd position on this list, is the University of Melbourne. This academic institution surprisingly climbed four places to rank seventh in the world for graduate employability this year, and it is also important to say it here, that the University of Melbourne achieves the highest score among all Australian universities for its Graduate Employment Rate (ranked 10th globally).
The university of Melbourne has so far, produced four Australian prime ministers who are among its alumni, plus other successful figures such as Germaine Greer and Barry Humphries. Its start-up accelerator, Melbourne Accelerator Program (MAP), was named the eighth best in the world in 2015. SO there is every reason why this institution is the 2nd academic institution with the highest rate of job employments for it’s graduates.
3. The University of New South Wales (UNSW)
The 3rd academic institution on this list of ten (10) best Australian universities for graduate employability is the University of New South Wales (UNSW), this school got a new entrant at 36th. The University of New South Wales, also known as UNSW achieves its highest score for the Employer Reputation indicator, and was recently awarded the maximum of five stars for “Getting a Job” in the Good Universities Guide.
According to the Good Universities Guide, graduates of UNSW, at least, 76% of undergraduates find a job within four months of graduating from this academic institution.
4. The University of Queensland (UQ)
The University of Queensland surprised us when it pushed from 51-60 to 49th in the world for graduate employability this year, and this institution did receives its highest score for the Partnerships with Employers category.
The University of Queensland boasts a higher graduate employment rate than the national average, and one major force behind it’s success, is it’s free online employability course which is open for students, including other initiatives to help maximize students’ success, such as short-term global experiences and student exchange programs, internships, career workshops and more.
5. University of Technology, Sydney (UTS)
Fifth on this list, is the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). This academic institution is currently ranked 69th in the world for graduate employability, and gets its highest score for the Graduate Employment Rate category, with the latest figures, which shows that about 76% of Australian-resident UTS graduates are employed within three months after study, earning an average salary of AU$67,047 (~US$53,130).
The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) runs a variety of careers fairs and events, and offers students work-ready programs, which includes the UTS Accomplish Intensive program, a course of career workshops.
6. Monash University
The next University with highest employment rate is located right in Melbourne, and this institution took the 6th position in Australia universities for graduate employability. The Monash University is currently ranked 79th in the world this year and is featured in the global top 50 for its Employer Reputation, reflecting its reputation as one of the most prestigious universities in Australia.
Monash University runs a range of careers events and programs, including industry panels and seminars such as the Global Careers Panel, facilitated by Raw Talent, which help in building students and graduates for Job hunting.
7. Australian National University (ANU)
The Australian National University is globally ranked 84th in the world for graduate employability, and this institution, the Australian National University (ANU) was able to achieve the impressive score of 20th in the Graduate Employment Rate indicator, with about 88% of ANU’s domestic graduates employed full-time within four months after completing their studies, according to the results of the Graduate Destination Report 2016.
The Australian National university offers a range of diverse volunteering opportunities, including the new ANU+ initiative.
8. RMIT University
RMIT University is another University from Australia which is showing it’s mark in the educational world today. RMIT University is currently ranked 97th in the world for graduate employability this year and also achieves a very high score for the Graduate Employment Rate category, ranking 15th in the world. This academic institution supports entrepreneurial students with its RMIT Activator.

Taking 9th position on this list, is the QueensLand University of Technology. This academic institution was recently featured in the 111-120 range for graduate employability, Queensland University of Technology (QUT), which is situated and located in Brisbane, is ranked in the global top 50 for the Employer-Student connections category.
Queensland University of Technology, (QUT) has an international outlook and describes itself as “a university for the real world”. This university is very active at promoting connections between employers and students via

10. Macquarie University
Last but not the least on this list, is the Macquarie University. This academic institution made this list as the 10th academic institution with the highest employment rates for it’s graduates, thanks to the chance Macquarie offers her student to get practical experience within their degree through programs like unique PACE (Professional and Community Engagement).
Macquarie University is ranked in the 121-130 band, with a top-50 score for the Graduate Employment Rate category. Looking at the 2016 Macquarie University Graduate Destination Survey, a whooping 89% of Macquarie graduates were in full-time work or study almost a year after finishing their course.
